Leisure & Joie was born out of the desire to slow down, be at ease, and enjoy the beauty in the everyday.
We don’t subscribe to frantic energy, especially not the kind associated with the holiday season - and we don’t believe you should either. We all know firsthand that life brings enough challenges on its own. You don’t need additional stress.
Our hope is that you discover a different way to approach how you consider gifting your loved ones, colleagues, and yes, even yourself.

We believe practical gifts show people you have considered who they actually are in choosing something special. Gift giving doesn't have to be super intimate, but it is personal.
In this season, it is quite understandable people get overwhelmed. The quick spiral into, “What do I get my co-worker?”, “Will my best friend like what I chose for her?”, “What to get the one who has everything?” All of these concerns are valid, and in this economy? Value comes first - perceived and actual.
We believe the key is first understanding the fact that people don't need more things, simply for the sake of having them.
We're not minimalists, per se. We're for people who appreciate good design and the practical application of an item.
It's not so much buying because something may cost less; it's more about choosing well. Quality things that have a purpose, a place in someone's life, just make sense.
Gifting someone a book they have been wanting to read, a gorgeous, fragrant candle, or a beautiful set of versatile glassware, is much more thoughtful than people think.
It shows someone you genuinely thought of them and how they might integrate the gift itself, and the feeling it brings, into their life. No one wants another gift they have to “find a place for”, something that is not their taste, or genuinely leaves them wondering… “Do they even know me?”
We want people to feel seen and nothing feels better than realizing someone took the time to consider you; not just settling on something for the sake of it.
And let's not forget - giving feels good, too. It feels nice when you find “that thing” that makes you think of someone, knowing they'll use it, enjoy it, or appreciate the thought behind it. Gifts don’t have to be extravagant, to be meaningful.
Living well is not indulgent. It is essential. It is a daily practice. It is by design.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, practical doesn’t have to mean boring.
Getting your sibling that has trouble sleeping a gorgeous, plush sleep mask with some tea for a night time ritual, might be simple, but shows you care. A beautiful journal can help your best friend start organizing her thoughts around a new business and she’ll love it so much - she is more likely to use it throughout her process and remember who was there when it was just a thought in her mind.
It may sound a bit cliché, but sometimes it's the little things that let people know you've taken notice of them - that they matter. A little thoughtfulness goes a long way.
