LESS IS MORE

LESS IS MORE LEISURE & JOIE MINIMAL

EVERYTHING HAS A PURPOSE AND A PLACE

Life demands so much from each of us daily so it is our responsibility to be in charge of how we choose to move in this world. With so much expected of us… freeing up space in your life and your mind is literally and figuratively a great way to reduce anxiety, boost creativity and feel free to… LIVE.

Having practical items and less of them, with everything having a place to “live” is crucial in staying ahead of clutter - physically, and also mentally. If every item has a specific purpose and a designated place it goes (your keys always stay in the catch-all tray in the foray, your remote control always stays on the coffee table…) then you don’t have to spend your limited and VALUABLE time wasted getting aggravated when you can’t find your keys as you run out the door! You have better things to use that time on.

declutter and make space

Do you ever notice when you clear your physical space, you are immediately free from the anxiety that comes from “needing” to clean, for example? Literally clearing physical clutter, allows you to FREE space in your mind. You’re able to release feelings of anxiety and do something fun or some other productive activity… maybe enjoy a meal, read a book, exercise, chat with a friend… all without having that, “I need to…” voice making your current state less enjoyable.

Your OUTER space reflects your INNER landscape… this is a real phenomena! We’re not experts but when you’re feeling happy, clear, creative, hopeful… you probably AREN’T worried about the laundry you haven’t put away or cleaning… because it is ALREADY DONE.

Notice how not feeling good about yourself or having a hard time in some way, can make it much more likely that you’ll just “leave things” and soon… find yourself in a mess? It is a lot more difficult to find motivation once there is just SO MUCH more to do. Sometimes choosing to ignore it all seems like a good idea, which, of course, creates a bigger issue, delaying the process and path to feeling better.

We all know how easy it is to slip into the “I’ll do it later” mindset… so it is always better to just “do the work”. Process how you’re feeling and work through it - no matter how hard. Same with the physical aspect of things. Keep a list of to do’s to track the tasks that keep it so that everything is “always” organized. Using a productivity planner helps with that and then you’re on your way to feeling lighter and clearer on the INSIDE, too.

EVERY MINUTE YOU SPEND LOOKING THROUGH CLUTTER, WONDERING WHERE YOU PUT THIS OR THAT, BEING UNABLE TO FOCUS BECAUSE YOU’RE NOT ORGANIZED COSTS YOU: TIME YOU COULD HAVE SPENT WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS, TIME YOU COULD HAVE BEEN PRODUCTIVE AROUND THE HOUSE, TIME YOU COULD HAVE BEEN MAKING MONEY.

get things done

Free your mind from anxiety by just getting things DONE. Don’t let your laundry pile up all week so your weekends are spent chained to the washer/dryer. Don’t leave your clothes in the dryer for 3-5 business days after they’re clean. Don’t leave your clean clothes on a pile once they finally make it to your room! Put them away, as soon as possible, and be DONE WITH IT. Move on to enjoying life!

Laundry is a great example because it is universal and entirely relatable. We have all been guilty of doing at least one, if not all of those scenarios mentioned. The truth is, those things will happen from time to time (actual laundry or otherwise, lol). Make the effort to keep the habit of doing things as they are happening; make it so they aren’t living rent-free in your mind all the time. Don’t let “unimportant things” take your precious mental space! Use that space for something BETTER!

make your space beautiful

We love a minimal, modern, subtle, neutral palette, as they are aesthetically pleasing to us and also, calming. That said, everyone’s idea of beauty is different. Try…

Simple things like this can help you allow calm to enter your dwelling and mind. Joy can come from just looking at your surroundings. If your space is somewhere you enjoy being, you’re more likely to keep it looking “beautiful” and clutter free.

essentials only

One of the reasons we stock items that people can USE and are aesthetically pleasing is so that you only keep what is necessary. Things you actually USE and “spark joy” make it so there is LESS to deal with overall.

Less to clean, less to organize, and the less of all of that there is… the MORE time you have, the more FREEDOM you have…

Be free to rest, create, enjoy time with friends and family because… LESS really is MORE.
