DISCONNECT, RECONNECT

WATER & DAILY TO-DO LIST WITH VITAMINS

LET GO

One of the most difficult things we can do is learn to let go of our need to control every circumstance we encounter and allow ourselves to surrender to the ebb and flow of life.

Trusting in our own ability to navigate experiences as they come, can be a challenge and serve as a reminder to let go and be present.

Understandably, the majority of us are tightly wound, over-scheduled, holding numerous daily responsibilities. We all struggle with this at some point or another and yet by putting forth a little effort, we can create an effortless experience for ourselves.

  • Use the “Do Not Disturb” setting on your phone or silence your notifications

  • Set time frames for apps used (e.g. email, social media, games, etc.)

  • Keep a schedule but stay flexible

ENJOY WHAT YOU CAN AND IGNORE THE REST. LET’S NOT WASTE ANY ENERGY FIGHTING THINGS THAT ARE OUTSIDE OUR CONTROL.
— PAULO COELHO, BRAZILIAN NOVELIST

BE SPONTANEOUS

We love a schedule as much as the next person but there need to be times where you get out of your comfort zone and change things up.

Something as simple as taking a different route home can allow you to experience something new!

  • Try an improv class / toastmasters

  • Head to a museum

  • Learn a new language

Putting ourselves in situations that challenge us help us grow.

If you never give yourself the opportunity to be a beginner at something or feel even a little uncomfortable while doing something new, how can you expect to discover new sides of who you are and who you can be?

SCHEDULE LEISURE

If you happen to be one of those people that are truly busy, actually add “leisure time” to your schedule.

Booking out time in your day to get coffee with a friend, get a massage, take that yoga or boxing class you wanted to try, makes it so that you actually DO it.

SCHEDULING periods of “free” time forces you to carve out time for pure enjoyment.

FREEDOM IS THE ONLY WORTHY GOAL IN LIFE. IT IS WON BY DISREGARDING THINGS THAT LIE BEYOND OUR CONTROL.
— EPICTETUS, GREEK PHILOSOPHER

prioritize your well-being

Disconnect… give yourself the space to step out of the stress in your life, give yourself some time to… get lost in a book, write/journal, paint, drive down the coast…

It may seem counterproductive, but allowing yourself to let go, to disconnect, to unplug… really brings you closer to yourself and helps you reconnect to your SELF and the important things in life. You’ll find yourself to feel less anxious, sleep better, improve your productivity and feel happier.

Protect your energy from things that drain you. Prioritize people, places and things that bring you joy. You’ll start noticing subtle, positive changes in your life when you start getting used to “adding” time to do “nothing”.

Don’t take our word for it… try it.
