AGING MEANS YOU’RE ALIVE

YOU ARE ALIVE

Our founder turned a year older recently, so naturally, aging seemed fitting for this month’s blog.

Isn’t it crazy? Depending on how old you’re turning… leaving the house AT NIGHT seems outlandish, unheard of and, a rarity, at best. Suddenly everything is too loud, too bright, too crowded, tech and slang are foreign concepts - and you feel like you’re turning into your parents!

While it’s not quite as drastic as that, the good news is - growing older doesn’t happen overnight. It happens gradually, over the course of your life.

You’re only as young or old as you FEEL, right?

YOU EVOLVE

Advancing in age doesn’t have to be a terrible or daunting experience.

It is a completely natural life cycle every human goes through. We encounter so many phases in life, physically, mentally and even spiritually, that who you are is in flux the entirety of your life - a continuous evolution of YOU.

We believe how you perceive aging and getting older is what will have the biggest impact on how you experience it.

When you’re young…

  • you’re more worried about what others think of you

  • you can’t wait to be older

  • you think you know everything

  • you run with “the crowd”

Those aspects of being young aren’t bad… they are just a part of youth, figuring out life, and your place in it.

A few perks of getting older…

  • you know who you are and are unbothered

  • you know what you want and what you don’t

  • you are more intentional with your time, energy, and relationships

  • you value traits like character and mindset much more than before

As you age, you let go of preconceived notions of what could be and truly accept what is.

You have been around the block once or twice and have hopefully honed the skills you need (via emotional intelligence and the wisdom you’ve accumulated over time) to be secure in who you are and what you will accept from others and life.

like fine wine

Just like a fine wine… you keep getting better with age… you keep developing flavor!

There is still so much to discover about life and yourself as you age.

The more you do to take care of yourself mentally and physically, the longer you’ll maintain a healthy and high-caliber quality of life.

If we can all stop overly obsessing about stopping or slowing the actual process… (wanting to be 25 forever…) maybe we can just enjoy it as it happens.

There is anything wrong with wanting to hold on to our youth and youthfulness, as long as possible, but we can’t let that determine our worth in the world.

Whether you’re team botox or au naturale as part of your physical “I’m old” plan, ensuring the quality of your life is as great as it can be - is what’s important.

Physical exercise has benefits that help you gain and maintain strength. Eating well and being more health conscious overall plays a role in getting older “better”.

There are always new habits to learn, places to explore, people to meet. Don’t limit yourself.

Maintaining an active lifestyle, socially and physically, does wonders for your outlook, mental health, and longevity.

enjoy

As you age and grow older, you appreciate the wisdom and life experience that comes with it - at times wishing you knew certain things years before.

One thing is for sure… we can never go back, only forward.

Remember to wake up grateful and go to bed grateful.

Our time here is finite and not one of us knows which day is our last.

Getting older is a gift… it means you’re alive.
